Delete your account
You can permanently delete your The Hot Potato account from your profile. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
In the app
- Sign in and open your account menu, then your profile.
- Choose Delete account at the bottom of your profile.
- Read the confirmation and choose Delete permanently. This cannot be undone.
You can also open your profile on the website and follow the same steps.
If you cannot sign in
Email support@thehotpotato.app to request deletion of your The Hot Potato account. Do not send your password or one-time sign-in codes.
What is removed
Your sign-in account and personal profile details are removed, and you are signed out. Groups you created are deleted. Your captions and photos in other people’s groups are erased, including posts in groups you already left.
What stays
Other people’s groups stay. They keep the turns, comments, and reactions, with your name shown as Deleted player. A placeholder profile keeps that shared history connected.
Safety reports and their content snapshots may be retained to review abuse. Service-provider records and backups are subject to the retention and security terms in our Privacy Policy.
